Bluetooth software - Microsoft or ThinkPad?

#1 Post by Anthony S » Wed Jul 04, 2007 3:46 pm

Yesterday I set a power-on password in BIOS and that resulted in several BSODs, mostly on restart. The system seems to have stabilized now, but it left my Bluetooth totally screwed. I used my rescue disk to reinstall the BT software and ended up with the MS version, whereas I had the TP version before. This raises two questions for me:

-- Is there any advantage to having ThinkPad BT software rather than the MS BT software?
-- If I decide to revert to the ThinkPad BT software, do I need to remove the current MS BT software first or can I install on top of it?
Current: T60p (2007-93G). Previous: T23 (2647-9LG).

I used Thinkpad (Widcomm) and Microsoft stacks on an X60s before. Thinkpad stack offers more profiles but Microsoft one is more stable.

If you have a Blackberry and want Desktop sync via Bluetooth, MS is the only stack that will work. Found that out the hard way :(
