Can't watch DVD post Vista

#1 Post by marlinspike » Mon Jul 09, 2007 11:21 pm

For the first time since I installed the Vista Busniess upgrade onto my computer, I tried playing DVD. Now I just found out I can't. Anybody run into this before and have a fix? Something about my not having the DVD decoder.

Vista doesn't play dvd out of the box. Media Player Classic and VLC Media Player are some free options out there.

Check this link - it will show you to free DVD players (usable under Vista Business), and also discuss how to play silently. Enjoy! :-)

PS: A small hint: Try the "Search" function here... it is quite useful!

I use Nero's ShowTime. It's a nice product bundled with the DVD burning software.

If you look for a sale you'll be able to grab the whole suite for about $40. Such a deal....
