Reformatting T60 What is in store?

#1 Post by truehoosier » Tue Jul 10, 2007 12:13 am

I have the recovery cd's... Is this all I need before I begin? My friend is telling me the process can be quite complex and could take most of the day. Thanks Again... Any advice would be awesome...

As long as the R&R partition is still intact, you don't even need the recovery CD's. Just hold down the thinkvantage button at the first boot screen and follow the prompts to restore factory contents. The process is automatic (including drivers), so your friend is misinformed about the difficulty and amount of time required. It takes maybe 30 minutes to restore a T60.

I went through the process, using CDs and DVDs, several times in the last few weeks, on a T60, an X21, and two R50p's. Each time it took two to three hours.

Thanks... I'll have to make a night of it sometime soon.
