T60 "3945abg" browsing in Opera & IE

I've had my ThinkPad for maybe a week and the first few days I had wireless disconnects maybe every 6-8 minutes. I changed some settings that I found here from a collegiate set-up message.

The disconnect problem disappeared BUT NOW when browsing in either Opera or IE when going from a first page to the second page(clicking on the 2) on a thread or going back to the Topics menu(by clicking) the machine stops browsing with the error "no response etc". Both browsers will then not work BUT the machine shows me connected with 90%+. Outlook Express and my Opera mail both still connect.

It requires a reboot to go back to browsing. Disconnecting/powering off the wireless and restarting the wireless does not work. Only a reboot will do!

Ideas? I don't know that I explained this very well but it sure is a nuisance!

XP or Vista? Access Connection / Windows / Intel ProSet? Driver version? Router model?

Let me try!

Let me try to answer your questions!

Sugo,

Thanks for the remarks, let's see if I can be helped NOW!

OS is XP, I believe I'm using AccessConnection, Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG with a driver version of 11.1.1.11 dated 4/30/07 and the router is a Netgear WGT624v3 using WEP.

I have no problems with a Dell machine or a Sony Vaio but both are using Netgear cards.

Here is the link from St-Agnes that I used to alter the settings. Prior to using these it would disconnect every 6-8 minutes.

Now it seems to browse well untill you click on page #'s to advance your postion or to back-up in a web page. I doubt I explained this very well and if I need to better explain just mention HOW!!

I also believe that it WAS set up at one time to use the windows wireless connection but when you hover the windows icon in the try it just shows connected, the name and strength. Click the icon and it mentions "windows can not configure"!
