Memory Parity error

Hi,

I got my T60P 2008-8hu about 2 months ago. It came with 2GB memory and I added an extra 1GB.

For the past 2 months it has been working flawlessly. Today, after coming out of hibernation (it was on dock) I got Memory Parity error.

I shut it down and rebooted it and it worked fine. I ran PC Doctor and tested the 2 CPU, Memory and CMOS and the T61p passed all the tests.

I then put it in hibernation and it came out OK as well. No error nothing.

Then what was wrong with t61p. Should I be worry.

Thanks

Sepehr

The additional memory is what causing it.

Download memtest86 and run a test on it.

It finished checking and found no error. Anything else I should do.

Take out the extra memory and reinstall, checking the conenctions are clean and it's seated properly. It might just be a bad connection. I had a similar issue with memory errors and BSODs. The memory tested fine, even with memtest running overnight. After removing, dust blowing and reinstalling the memory I've had no more problems.
