Hi guys,

Now that a model T61 15.4 is out with discrete graphics, I wanted opinions on NVIDIA Quadro NVS 140M, is it good enuf and how does it compare with GEFORCE 8600 series ?

I have been waiting for this combo for past 3 months, now there are two options t61p and the above model.

My main requirements are I dont play much games, but watch a lot of video and do some good amount of coding and run decently intense applications and some heavy amount of multitasking.

My questions are

a) I am looking at getting wsxga+ tft screen for the T61, is this good ?

b) Is wuxga screen for T61P good ? i heard stuff about text being too small.

c) Finally how do both the discrete graphics cards compare ? vs say geforce 8600 series.

d) 2.0 GHZ over 2.2 GHZ processor ?

e) 3 year accidental damage vs 3 year extended warranty ? Is it really needed considering all the sturdiness of TPs.

I am looking at Vista Ultimate over Home premium. The premium for T61P over T61 (with discrete graphics) is about 200-250 ...is it worth going for P ?

I am new to lenovo and also have been waiting so long this combo, my old laptop has been dead for 3 months and need a laptop very soon.

Thanks

The NVS 140 is the business counterpart of the 8400M, not the 8600M. If you want performance comparable to that, get the T61p with the FX 570M, like I did ;-)
