T6x power plug
T6x power plug
Hello. I own a T60p and I plan to buy a car/boat charger for it which isn't so cheap. Actually it's not a big problem, but I would like that the charger lasts for years - sometime I'll surely change the T60p with a new ThinkPad T (it's my tradition
) and I would like to use the same charger for this next "potential" Txx (I don't want to buy an another charger that time). This situation is ofcourse mostly dependent of the plug and voltage of the laptop so I am asking you... do you maybe know what are the chances that Lenovo will change this plug in the next few years...?

The previous power connector format lasted over 10 years, so I would say that they (IBM, and now Lenovo) are not prone to changing it on a whim. I think the probability of your car charger fitting the next ThinkPad as well is quite good -- but of course none of us really knows.
