You can petition them, but the business rationale is not there for Lenovo to do significant T60 development work at this point in time. So I really don't think it's going to happen ...
They've done it in the past. Several thinkpads have had BIOS updates which allowed the use of larger memory modules. 600x and T23 are just 2 that come to mind.

It's possible -- I don't know the details on what happened with the 600x and T23, or why. But I do know that if I were making decisions at Lenovo (and I'm not!) I would not be spending my engineering resources on updates for discontinued systems.

The ThinksPads.com rules are explicit about ad hominem attacks....

Cardinal Rules
screw-up here and you COULD be banned..

3. Ad hominem and personal attacks are not permitted. Criticize the ideas, not the people. An ad hominem attack is a logical fallacy describing the attempt to discredit an argument by merely attacking the credibility of the arguer. Excessive flaming will not be tolerated. Users who verbally assault the character or person of other posters on a regular basis will be banned. Moderator's judgment applies here. "You are wrong" is not a personal attack; "You wrong because you are an idiot" is.

.... several message have been deleted from this thread for breaching the above, and other, forum rules.

Please stay on topic.

Thanks,
