Hi all,
First I should say that, although this is my first post, I have been lurking here for a while and I am very impressed with the level of knowledge of forum members.
My question concerns 2 T61p models on the Canadian site (the only configurations available at the time of writing this post). As far as I can tell there are very few differences between them, but the price difference is substantial ($850 CDN). Please find below what I can see the differences to be.
Model 1: 646067U
Model 2: 64575KU
Does the fact that the second last digit in the model number in Model 1 is a number and in model 2 is a letter have any significance?
Model 1: Intel Core 2 Duo T7500
Model 2: Intel Core 2 Duo T7700
Model 1: MWave 'Combo' Card, IBM PC Card
Model 2: MWave 'Combo' Card, K56 Flex Protocol with voice
What's the difference between these two?
Model 1: Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN
Model 2: Intel Pro/Wireless 3945ABG (802.lla disabled), Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN (11n disabled)
There are also some new T61 (non-p) models on the Canadian site that are more expensive than Model 1 and this wireless option seems to be the difference. What is the difference between these two?
Sorry for the long post and thank you in advance for your assistance.

Welcome, Wireless in Winnipeg!
The specific digit/letter in the model number does not have any hidden meaning.
The 6460-67U is a topseller model, and as such priced more aggressively at $2,184.05 (through visaperks.ca). The 6457-5KU is a "standard" model and as such you can expect to pay a bit more for that configuration (in this case $2,676.65, or about C$500 extra).
The 6460-67U has a slightly faster CPU (but you can change that later if you find you really need the extra 0.2 GHz); the modem and wireless differences are really not significant.
So unless you really want the T7700 CPU, the topseller is a much better buy than the other one.
