I wrote the below first, but it occurs to me that perhaps you do not need the driver for the
Intel(R) ICH8M LPC Interface Controller - 2811, but rather you need the driver for a device attached to it. Just a thought. In Device Manager, under System devices, do you see the
Intel(R) ICH8M LPC Interface Controller - 2811 without any errors? If so, then the problem is probably with a device attached to it.
I think you guys are all barking up the wrong tree. My T42 has an Intel LPC Interface Controller in Device Manager. I certainly don't have Turbo Memory or SATA controllers on my T42. I am still convinced it is one of the devices controlled by the Intel Chipset drivers.
Regarding the Southbridge Chip, Wikipedia wrote:ISA bus or LPC Bridge. Though the ISA support is rarely utilized, it has interestingly managed to remain an integrated part of the modern southbridge. The LPC Bridge provides a data and control path to the SIO (the normal attachment for the keyboard, mouse, parallel port, serial port, IR port, and floppy controller) and BIOS ROM (flash).
Click on

I post the link below for information, but I would use the chipset drivers downloaded from Lenovo's site just to be safe.
