greetings all,

I have T60p, Flexview with ATI Mobility FireGL V5200. Excellent laptop, perfect screen. The problem is battery life and bulky/weight.

I am looking to buy T61 14.1 wide screen, but I am concern about quality and viewing angles. I know, it will not be same as Flexview, but if it's considerable close, or at least good. I am ready to change it.

Any suggestions? Which FRU/model i should look for, LCD Samsung or LG, etc ... Experience ,...?

cheers,
tomislav

Since you already have a T, you might as well get an X, much more portable.

The X61 tablet has a multiview screen option (I thin it's similar to flexview).

I´d second furrycute's advice on the X series. Of course you should choose what you want, but i think you'll notice lower performance witha T61, lower battery life along with what looks as nearly the same dimensions.

The T61 has worser battery life than the T60p, even if it has a 6 cell battery. The T61 would be a little lighter, but i'd recommend you the 6 cell battery to get just average battery life. With this combo it has about the same dimensions of a 15.0" 4:3 model, if you go with a 14" 16:10 model.

Secondly, i can't compare with the T61 screens, since i've never seen them in real life. But the benchmarks of the NVS140M are "said" to be about V5200 speed.
But oh what a mistake that was. Yes they're comparable in 3DMark06. But if you run a DX8 game you will be severly limited with Vista and the 64 bit memory interface of the NVS140M. In 3Dmark2001 it scores about 7400, while the V5200 is 16500 or thereabouts. See the rest of the test here:
