Problems after boot

#1 Post by tbar2112 » Thu Jul 19, 2007 3:16 am

A few times that last week I have had a problem after I start the computer in the morning.

It does not seem to get ready - many applications are disabled (I see this on the desktop since it is showing an icon that indicated a non-associated file type. I do not have access to the start menu or anything else, the time glass is shown and I need to reboot. A couple of times, I have had to reboot twice, mostly just once and it seems normal again.

I do run an updated virus program and I do regular scans.

Any idea?
Cheers, T-Bar

IMO, it's most likely some kind of malware/spyware/trojan/virus that has done the damage.

You can try going back to the factory state and see if that helps.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.
