look well let me figure out what it can be. I don't have any problems with the KB however, I'm booting my t60 with the power on password DISABLED. OK I'll give it a try with PWR ON Password ENABLED and see what happens. if my KB fails to repond on PWR ON pass. is required to type in then that could be the culprit and I will not know what's the problem after then. but in the other side that could be normal because when is on PWR ON pass. mode it will not send power to the USB ports (key of the problem) but i'm not sure of that.
I think that's what I suspect right now that is between PWR on password and the bios splash screen and I will test it tomorrow.
my method of booting is: PWR ON password Disabled>
HD password Enabled(which i type with no problems)>finger print on windows log on, well that's the way I do with mine.
another idea that came to my mind is to activate the PWR on with the finger print only that you can easily modify with the finger print software and the rest by typing a HD password and log in to windows. I think it will be the best bet if you really need the PWR ON password Enabled.
but all depends, i'm not sure what i suspect it's just what i think. So, by the way , when you request a replacement to lenovo did they confirm you that the KB should work right at PWR ON mode? or what they told you what you can do about?
My 2 cents.

SLoweCSL .... did those Lenovo folks get her fixed up right this time?
I'm about to fire up my T61 on the advanced mini-dock here, just as soon as I install the enhanced KB software and have a few more beers. On second thought, I try it tomorrow after I sleep off the brewskies.

Yes, I tried out the laptop on the dock with the keyboard and it works fine now.
I haven't installed the software for the keyboard yet, does it offer anything important other than being able to reprogram the hotkeys?

Does anybody out there know if the enhanced KB software is required .... I'll hold off lift-off for now. Thanks!

A quick update folks .... Everthing is working great with the new enhanced KB and mini-dock on the new T61 and I really like the fact that I now have a total of 7 fully powered, full bandwidth USB ports while docked! Yes, that's SEVEN .... whoa.
BTW, I did install the KB software first before using the KB, FWIW.

I had the enhanced keyboard, got it with T60 from last Feb new and I plug it in the mini dock.
I had no pb, kb works fine...but I cannot get the multimedia keys to work, only the centre button with the music stave works and launched Media player. the others, mute, volume up/down etc do not work. If I turn on 'on screen display' the non working buttons put up the correct on screen diplay icon, so windows XP is getting/seeing the keystroke, but not managing the sound at all on my T60 with SoiundMAX audio (1951-A47)....any ideas ??
In reply to the post above, I have 9 x USB ports on my T60 with the mini dock.
Mini-dock: 4 ports
T60 LH Side: 1 port
T60 RH Side: 2 ports
USB enh KB back right: 2 ports
Maybe you missed those exptra two ports on the KB itself.
Cheers

Oh yes, I completely forgot about the extra 2 USB ports on my KB, so I stand corrected and also have a total of NINE ... whoa, I don't think I'll ever need to use a separate USB hub again:-)
BTW, did you try uninstalling the KB and it's SW and then reinstall the SW it came with before plugging in the KB? That's what I think I had to do to get the MM keys working.
