Hi,
Can anyone show me documentation about correct range of temperature in T60? I mean Intel Dual Core 2 1.66GHz processor and other sensors.

in idle i have:

Code: Select all

 maddud@iglo:~$ cat /proc/acpi/ibm/thermal
temperatures: 44 35 39 -128 50 -128 31 -128 41 42 44 -128 -128 -128 -128 -128

in stress:

Code: Select all

maddud@iglo:~$ cat /proc/acpi/ibm/thermal
temperatures: 63 35 39 -128 50 -128 31 -128 42 43 48 -128 -128 -128 -128 -128
There even was 67.
This is incorrect imho.

What's incorrect? 63C-67C for CPU temperature under stress? That really seems quite reasonable.

I just don't know what are correct temperatures. I ask for documentation. The thing is in my pc (box) stress temp is under 55C (p4 3.00GHz HT) but this is my first brand new notebook and as i said, i dont know the correct temp.

Graphic card is integrated intel (950 afak)

Pascal_TTH, tomh009: thanks for the words. i feel better now.

Core (2) Duo can run until 105°C before shut down according to Intel pdf.
With fan off, Core (2) Duo can stay at about 56°C when web browsing.
With fan on, it's temps is about 48°C doing the same job.
In heavy load with fan, it reachs near 80°C in my T60p 2,16 GHz.

For the GPU, temp can got up to 100°C with FireGL V5200 due to Lenovo poor thermal pad between GPU and fan assembly. I mod mine by replacing the thermal pad by a thin copper plate. Max temp of the FireGL V5200 never go higjer then 85°C now.
