from t2500 to t7200: any fan noise difference?

I have a question for those of you have upgraded the cpu from core duo to core 2 duo. Is there any difference regarding the level of fan noise? The only reason I'm considering this upgrade is to lower the fan noise which is the only issue I have with this lovely machine.

Last week I purchased a macbook to my wife and I found out that the heat of the macbook has significantly lowered compared to the first generation macbook that went out last year, and guessed that it was related to the cpu upgrade to core 2 duo; but not sure my guess was a correct one or not. So I tried to research in this forum about the issue but I couldn't find any relevent one although I believe there should be somewhere. Please enlighten me on this issue either by sharing your experience or by directing me to another threads. Thanks.

Are you sure the fan noise isn't caused by the GPU?

Yeah, you're right. But I just wondered if cpu upgrade might help a little bit.

No it won't.

CD and C2D have nearly the same TDP.
Perhaps Apple changed the hole cooling design,
like lenovo with the T61.

Perhaps a Singe Core or ULV CPU will be cooler
but as already said, the GPU ist triggering the Fan
so i don't think it will be much of a difference.
