Is Active Protection picky on hard drive?

I am in market for a faster 7200.2 Seagate hard drive. However, I want to make sure that Active Protection supports this hard drive before purchasing.
Is Active Protection independent of hard drive or do I need to a compatible drive for it to work?

The Seagate drive interestingly enough comes with or without it's own version of active protection built in. They call it G-Force Protection. The model with it costs around $10 extra. If you're using Thinkvantage Active Protection then you don't need to pay the extra $10 for the drive with it built in; however, it's a nice option if you ever plan to use the drive externally. Note that if the model number ends in a G it has G-Force Protection.

Thanks for the reply guys,
Personally, I don't actually consider the AS9160823ASG because of potential conflict between G-force and Active Protection as some members on notebookreview forum report. I settle for a normal drive instead.
