Memory upgrade on a T6x question

#1 Post by nurio » Sun Jul 22, 2007 3:13 pm

On Jul. 20th I ordered a T61p and I am planning to spoil my new baby with a GeIL 4GB dual channel kit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductRe ... 6820144066
When looking at the T60 memory upgrade instructions I noticed that one DIMM "sits" on top of the other. Now am wondering if there is enough room for two DIMMs with heat spreaders.

Does anyone know how much space there is between the two memory slot on a T6x? Or thinks that there will be a problem with GeIL 4GB DIMMs?

Thanks,
nurio

You make a good point. Unless someone on the forum has already tested this memory in a t6x and responds to your query your best bet is to contact GeIL tech support and ask them.
Please post your findings here so others can benefit from your experience.

I spoke to GeIL today and I was told that these SO-DIMMS weren't tested on a T6x, but the heat spreads are very thin compared to desktop heat spreads and if needed can be easily removed (they are not glued) without voiding warranty. Hopefully they will stand behind that statement.
