#1 Post by vince_wonk » Wed Jul 25, 2007 4:51 am

My Name is Vincent. from Jakarta,Indonesia.
i want to buy Thinkpad T61 on Singapore with specification listed below:
Core 2 Duo T7300
1GB DDR 2
120GB HDD
Nvidia Quadro nVS 140M
14 WXGA+
6 cell battery
Genuine XP Pro
No Camera, No Fingerprint.
3 years international warranty.

the price for this T61 is about 1499 U$D.
several questions:

1. is it a good deal?

2. will the warranty work in my country Indonesia? the seller said that it's 3 years international warranty, is it real? how to check it out?

3. how long is the battery lifetime of this Thinkpad? and is it true, that Nvidia Quadro will increase temperature inside my notebook? what's the average and maximum temperature for Thinkpad T61 that use Quadro?

sory for my bad english....

All new GPU heats a lot... So if you don't need 3D power, it's better to go with integrated graphics. There are not a lot of report for Quadro temp. A powerful GPU also reduce battery life.

For warranty, it depends on the model. You can phone Lenovo and ask what about warranty with the four first digit of the model number. Nearly all model *p* (T60p for exemple) have a 3 years world wide warranty.

It seems to be a nice deal but price change a lot from a country to an other.

Yeah, if you have money issue...I always choose the best laptop from a previous release...

Like mine...I bought a T60P 15 days ago, and I'm very proud...

I don't have the money to buy a T61P that cost me 1200$ in extra.
Personnal use :T60P Serial : 8744J2F
