Hardware virtualization

I have a T60 1951-CTO which supports hardware virtualization.

I want to run Linux SUSE 10 as a virtual machine. What do I need to make this work? A couple of years ago I used a program called VirtialMachine, I think that’s what it was called, which worked fine but that was pure software.
I’m guessing I need something different to take advantage of the hardware virtualization.

Many thanks for any help.

The only special thing that hardware virtualization will get you right now is the ability to run 64-bit OS in a virtual machine. Most (all?) current virtualization software will support this.

So are there no speed advantages with using hardware virtulization?

Near as I can tell, Hardware-assisted virtualization is being utilized by Virtualization Software

One example is this White Paper from Parallels (Though they are getting the most press for running Windows under OSX):

They also produce products for Virtuliztion under Windows. I suspect you can find similar information at VMWare's site
