Blu Ray is available for R61 7732CTO ThinkPad Blu-ray Recordable Ultrabay Enhanced Drive [add $640.00]
I wonder when it is going to be available for t61p.

When one of the manufacturers of optical drives manages to shrink it down to fit into a 9.5mm space. Not before.
The R series will always get next-gen optical drives before the T due to the fact that it can take more "industry-standard" 12.5mm drives. This is the price of using a thinner, leaner, meaner notebook.
