I have been trying to restore the factory preload XP from the original HD that came my T60P (2623DDU). I had it running with dual boot and Vista 64 on the other HD. They were fighting over the security chip and then the XP (which I had set up to use the fingerprint and security chip with the client security) refused to boot. It would hand on the "checking security chip."
So I reset the security chip and that did not fix things.
As a last resort, I tried to restore the factory system but it gets started and then generates a cryptic message. "restore failed."
System restore fails - secruity chip enabled.
