T61p shipment delay....argh.

My order for a new T61p placed 7/11 and a shipment date estimated by Lenovo to be 7/30 has now been pushed back to 8/30.

Is this to be expected?

Same thing happened to me, but a supervisor at lenovo guaranteed it would ship this saturday.

Hey Guys,
I am a newbie on this forum. I ordered a T61P on July 11th at 12:55 pm. I called them yesterday at 9 am to find out the actual possibility of me getting my laptop shipped out yesterday and they promissed me that it was supposed to ship out by end of day July 30th.
I saw no updates on the Order check all day so I called them again at 5:30 pm. They promised me that it would ship out the first week of august.

I told them that if they didnt have the parts for the T61P, then why in the world would they release this laptop to the consumers. Obviously the representative said nothing about that and was apologizing.

I am not sure what is going on with lenovo. i love their laptops but 8 weeks is just getting out of hand. They promise one thing and nothing happens. I just want my laptop. I need it for work!!!
