T60 and T61 same batteries?

I got the free 6 cell battery from Lenovo for the delay problems, but the box says T60/R60, but the bat clearly works on the T61 and R61.

T61 batteries are not backward compatible. That was simply a typo.

really? wow... i would have assumed so if i didn't read it here. I figured all the T6x series batteries would be compatible just like how the T4x series were all compatible.

The T6x battery mess is really obscure, and the lenovo webpage is not helpful at all in finding the correct batteries (and part number lists that you find there are full of errors). Seems like whoever is in charge of the webpage does not know which batteries fit which machine either. I *think* that:

The T61 15.4" widescreen uses the same batteries as R60, T60 (either widescreen or not). The batteries have 6 or 9 cell.

T61 14" widescreen uses completely different batteries. They come in 4 or 6 cells. There once was a 7-cell listed but I can't find it any more. Same batteries as (some?) Z-series.

T61 14" 4:3 screen is not yet available at lenovo's web page.

T4x batteries are completely different from all T6x batteries.
