How to overcome optical drive/burning caprice?

#1 Post by csioucs » Thu Aug 02, 2007 9:11 am

I have a T60, with 2003 Server installed and have tried several burning software programs...It seems that my Matshita drive is very picky with the media it agrees to burn. Are there any of you having a greater experience and recommend a specific burning software that would broaden the appetite for my drive? :D

well have you used Nero? Just because i always use it and never have any problems burning with any disc.

If that's not the case then i think because of having Server on your laptop is the problem. Server doesn't come with features a normal XP does. Surely you can make it a work station with that "Server 2003 to XP" hack thingy but that doesn't make it a workstation. I think the ASPI Layer in server is lacking while the XP version is more robust. Nero i think comes with one which might help your burning needs.

Thanks for the tips guys. Yes Nero is the one that I used most, I used Ashampoo, Windows Explorer even  ...so far I've made useless about 10 CD's one after the other...

I'll check the ASPI layer...

Edit:

aspichk says: ERROR: ASPI is not properly installed
