With the release of 14.1 T61p

I think we - the owners of 15" T60p will be able to upgrade to new Santa Rosa platform, by swapping motherboards and also get that quiet fan

Just comparing the pictures on Lenovo website they look identical, when it goes to physical dimensions and components.

Will get myself the fan first and then a motherboard, once it comes by

You might as well just buy a T61p.

They don't have 15" 1600x1200 IPS screen

when does that happen? I couldn't find 14.1" T61p on lenovo web site. Will it release soon?

I actually had the same thought, but very brief, today too
Best very limited edition Thinkpad ever.
Still i'm not too sure - what makes you hope or think that the screw holes in the T60p fits with the T61p motherboard?

I know that this was the case with T4x though...

But the only thing one would need is the CPU and motherboard, so it sounds very tempting indeed.

So there will be a t61p with 14.1 widescreen releasing soon?

Oops I meant 14.2. So there is no plans by lenovo to make a t61p in 14.2 widescreen? Just 15.4 widescreen and 14.1 4:3?
