Difference b/w t61 (fully loaded) and t61p

#1 Post by jonnylaw » Sun Aug 05, 2007 2:07 am

is it just the screen and video card? Processor choice is the same? How likely will it be that lenovo would make the 256 quadro available on a 14 inch widescreen?

And other substantial differences b/w a fully loaded t61 and a t61p? I dunno even know what p stands for

This has been gone over dozens of times now. Please take the time to research next time.

The p series always offers a more powerful graphics card. The T61p has a 256MB Quadro FX 570M, based on the GeForce 8600M, while the T61 comes with (if selected) a 128MB Quadro NVS 140M, based on the GeForce 8400M. If you really want to know the difference in power, you can check out the 3DMark05 scores posted in one of the threads around here.

The T61p also offers UWB support, which is like a wireless USB standard, but this has not yet been utilized in any devices.
T42p - Pentium M 1.8Ghz, 1 GB RAM, 60 GB 7200 RPM, ATI Mobility FireGL T2 128MB
T61p - Core 2 Duo 7300, 3 GB RAM, 320 GB 7200 RPM, nVidia Quadro FX 570M 256MB

T61p vs T60

#4 Post by jhrain » Sun Aug 05, 2007 1:22 pm

From what I understand, here are the differences.

1. Higher Resolution Display (WSXGA & WUXGA)
2. Nvidia QuadroFX 570M
3. Magnesium roll cage for lower AND upper (T60 only has upper) frame
4. EnergyStar 4.0 Compliant (I believe T61 will be later with software update)
5. Wireless USB option

If I've missed something, please post a reply.

Did you mean that the T61 only has upper roll cage frame (not t60)? So the t61p has both an upper and lower roll cage, while the t61 only has an upper rollcage? What are the benefits to having both on the t61p?

-Also only Samsung makes the t61p wuxga, correct?

All T61s have both roll cages.

Actually T61/p just needed a certification, select models already came before with the UWB antenna as well.
