Multiple WLAN cards blocked?

Within the next month I will buy a T61p to replace my 5-year-old A31. While reading through the Hardware Maintenance Manual I found that there is a BIOS error message
"01CA - More than one Wireless LAN devices are found. Remove one of them.".
Does that mean the BIOS will prevent the system from booting once it detects more than one WLAN device? If so, what devices are counted? Mini PCI express only or Cardbus/Expresscard too?
Even if only the Mini PCI express cards are counted that would be some kind of bad as I was planning to install an Atheros abgn additionally to the Intel abgn - I am working with WLAN development a lot at university, would like to keep the Intel WLAN for normal use but test the Atheros, too (Atheros abgn Cardbus/Expresscard seems not to be available...)
Does anyone here have experience with multiple WLAN devices? Thanks in advance!
