Wifi loses internet sometimes for no reason...
On my T60p. sometimes i notice that while i still show i am connected to my router, and access connections shows i am connected to the internet, i cant get online, and need to reboot the laptop. No idea why. ANyone else having issues like this? I had the intel 3945 card, and swapped it out for the IBM a/b/g card. Same issues....

I haven't had much experience with this particular router. If possible try another router to continue troubleshooting the problem.
If the problem continues then you know to look closer at the ThinkPad and if the problem goes away then you know the router is the problem.

I have one here which I have been running for a couple of months now without any problems, using 802.11g equipped ThinkPads and Desktops.stephenaron wrote:I bought the Linksys WRT350N today. Anyone using it?
Cheers,
Bill B.
I had a similar problem with losing connectivity during normal usage.
Go to Lenovo and download
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... TVAN-ACONN
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-67351
For reasons I don't understand, the newest wireless drivers/access connection drivers are not propagated by the system update and have to manually downloaded. When I updated everything, the problem with disconnecting vanished.

I use Netgear but have had the same problem, especially on an old desktop I use as a kinda print server. It has a USB wireless adaptor and was always dropping W/LAN connections.stephenaron wrote:I am using Linksys WRT54GX with SRX. I am also using 4.41 Access Connectyions...hmmm... Anyone else?
The one thing I did which I believe made a difference was to stop or disable the Wireless Zero Configuration service. If you haven't done so, I would give this a try and solely use Thinkpad's Access Connections. Some will do the exact opposite and not use the Access Connection software to manage their connection but will use Window's WZC to manage their connection. I also like Intel's software, which you can download from intel.com. They have a feature in their software which allows you to exclude access points/wireless routers. This is helpful if you happen to live in close proximity of neighbors who also use wireless and feel the need to broadcast their SSID.
I don't believe it is your router but you can mess around some settings such as the Channel (usually 6 or 11), selecting support of only 802.11g, setting your MTU just below 1500, turning on access control so that you explicitly enter the MAC address of your NIC cards that can use your wireless APs, etc.
Good Luck!

I/m running a ThinkPad T60 with the Linksys Router and HAD the same problem until I updated my Access Connections software. Since that time, I've not had any connection related issues.
In addition, check the Rev. of your router. You may also want to flash the router.
Good luck.............
