I'm wondering if anyone can give me a rough estimate of how big/heavy the 15" wide T61p is vs. the 15" T42p.
I find the 14" non wide T4x and T6x to be nice and small, easy to carry. My 15" T42p is a bit heavier and basically at the limit of what I'd want to carry every day.

Imagine a 14.1" (non-wide) T4x/T6x. Add about 1" width, 1/4" thickness, and 1/2 lb weight and you have a 15.4" T6x.

Well if the 15" T42p was at your limit for carrying around, then I defintely don't suggest a 15" T61p widescreen. The extra size and weight (especially with the 9 cell battery) makes the T6xp WS a bit cumbersome-not terrible mind you, but no where near the light weight of the standard T4x series.
I just ordered a 14.1" SXGA+ T61p the other day to take the place of my current 15.4" T60p. I just don't like the extra size and weight.

T61P beside T43P which should be the same as the T42P

for me it was 30mm longer, 10mm narrower, fitted in the same bag and weight wasn't much different, I doubt you'd find that much difference

basically, the only way I'd get a T61p is with the WUXGA screen, so it seems reasonable based on my T42p.
now just have to think about it
