14 inch T61 9 Cell battery?

Hi,

Today i was configuring a 14 inch T61 for fun at Lenovo USA and i saw 6 and 9 Cell battery options i was 1000% it was 14 inch however when i bought my T61 here in Kuwait Lenovo told me that 9 cell is no more for the 14 wide T61 can someone please clarify? was it a system glitch? or 9 cell is now available.

My T61 model is 7663-W1X

there is a 9 cell for the T61 14.1'' STANDARD 4:3. i dont think widescreen has a 9 cell.

T61 14.1 WS comes with either 4, 6 or 7 cell batteries.
T61 14.1 Standard comes with 6 or 9 cell battery.

Do the 14.1" and 14" WS use the same motherboards ? If yes then they should have the same battery connector also.

My guess is the differentiating thing would be the form factor of 4,7 and 9 cells. ( length / width )

Are the 4 and 7 cells compatible with earlier T60 versions ?

the motherboards are the same as far as i know. They just use an extender to get the ports to the far side of the widescreen systems.

The batteries i don't think are compatible but the T60 did come in widescreen variants so maybe the 4, 6 and 7 cell ones would work with those. The normal screen ones are 6 and 9 cell as usual.

T60 never came in 14.1'' WS, so AFAIK the batteries of this particular model (T61 14.1'' WS) are not backward compatible, however you can swap out the batteries among 15.4'' T60, T61 /p models.
