I've encountered sound output with noise.
The noise is pretty obvious.
But it does not happen every time.
Some time when I heard the noise, I close the program, then restart it, then it is gone, sometimes restart does not work.
And it is consistent during every playback, i.e., if I open one audio file, it will either be with noise all the way til the playback ends, or no noise at all.
I have been experiencing this no matter what output devices i use, HD595 headphone or built-in speakers.
I am using T60 with Vista and SoundMAX integrated digital HD 6.10.1.5140.
Does anyone have an idea what's going on?
Thanks.
Noisy sound output
I've been having the same problem with my T60. At first I thought it might have been something wrong with the speakers (i.e. something rattling) but then I started noticing the noise while wearing headphones. The strangest thing is that it doesn't happen consistently or with any apparent pattern.
Any ideas anyone?

IBM ThinkPad T60 (2623P3U):

this happens to me as well on my z61t.
the noise will randomly sound very tinny and echoey. to further elaborate on the problem, i think it occurs in accordance with a sound effect, meaning that a noise (im alert, song, audio from a video) will either be completely normal, or will be completely tinny from beginning to end.
it's easy to get around (just stop, and start again), but it's kinda annoying to have to live with.
it's most evident when i'm imming because all the noises will sound normal, and then every once in a while, i hear this buzzy im.
