How do I install ExpressCard

Hopefully this turns out to be a really dumb question!!
I have a T61P model 6547-5KU which includes an ExpressCard slot (see spec below). I bought the Lexar 16GB ExpressCard, but it is too short to go into the slot.
Is the ExpressCard slot INSIDE the PCMCIA slot, or separate? Do i need an adapter for this? If so, any recommendations? If not, am i missing the ExpressCard slot?
partial spec from web site: PCMCIA Support: 1 Type I/II and 1 ExpressCard/54 or 34

If your Lexar 16GB ExpressCard does not look like one of the cards in the picture on the following webpage, then it is not likely an ExpressCard (unless there is some new spec I haven't heard about). Note that the bottom picture is of a PCMCIA PC Card, not an ExpressCard.

It looks like the first one - 34mm form factor.

The ExpressCard slot is a separate slot, stacked above the PCMCIA slot on my T60p. Your card should go all the way into the slot, with just enough overhang to keep the door from closing. There should be a button beside the slot, to eject the card, when it is inserted.

I finally took it to a repair depot and they agreed that the ExpressCard slot is missing. I called Lenovo/IBM support, and at first they said i should have reported it missing within 2 days of receiving it - only had it 3 weeks. Then they called to say they would ship the part under warranty.
Thanks for your help.
