Thinkpad T60 - presentation director issue

Hi, Just joined the forum
I have a nagging issue - I used system update 3 on my new T60 with XP professional and installed presentation director but it didn't install the hotkey and power management features so of course presentation director didn't work. Tired to uninstall presentation director and I got error msg 'unable to run DLL and APP' and on debug the error says 'unable to get LENOVO_GetSystemType'.
Installed the hotkey and power management features and presentation director works but uninstalling it or trying to re-install it gives same error.
So although it works but it's bugging me that this 'error' lives...

I also have a Lenovo 20" LCD external monitor and I notice screen flashes occasionally - having searched the forum, I gather this could be due to the docking station and supplied 'sub-standard' DVI cable...?

Any help appreciated.
