T60 System Standby problem

#1 Post by cashmoney805 » Thu Aug 16, 2007 5:27 pm

Hey guys, I have a T60 and it just randomly goes into standby mode. When I try to get out of it the screen just has different lines of color and then they start spreading out. It's hard to explain, it kinda looks like I'm pressing on the screen but I'm not. So whenever this happens I just have to turn the computer off and restart. Anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it? Thanks.

Are you sure it goes into standby ? According to what you get when you try to wake up, it can be due to overheat. Also, you can try to update your drivers.

You can check with some software like TPfancontrol or just ear the noise of the fan. If it's very loud, before *sleep*, it can be overheat. Witch graphic card have you laptop ? It happends with Radeon X1400 but more often with FireGL (so T60p).

Also, check if you got the leatest bios version.

I do have the Radeon x1400, but how do I check the bios? And how do I make it not so hot?
