intel wireless card

Well i was able to order the t61p with the sxga screen and should hopefully have it here on monday. So here is the question, when i configured it, i got the intel card with abgn, cuz there was none offered by ibm, i have read that the n part of the intel cards are disabled, is that true? if so, can i get another card that would have the n enabled, either ibm or something else? the atheros cards, are those the ibm ones? sorry for the dumb questions, but you guys have helped before.
