Using original battery after using the recall replacement

I received my recall replacement battery the other day. I live on the edge so I was planning on using both batteries but it seems after putting my new battery into the machine, the original battery has been disabled. Now when the original battery is in the laptop I get the orange blinking battery icon and a msg saying "The battery cannot be charged." The new battery charges and works fine, it is only the old one acting up.

You should probably read this thread:

and understand what all of the implications are before continuing to use a recalled item. While yours probably is not one that will cause any physical harm to the laptop (or you), do the right thing - either take the battery to a recycling center (and tell them it's a recalled battery) or send it back to Lenovo.

If you have gotten the "The battery cannot be charged." message the battery will no longer work. It will show a full charge, but it will no longer power your device.

A couple of people I know got billed (!!) when they forgot to send the recalled battery. Things settled once they sent the old battery back.
Even if not for the bill, it is dangerous using a recalled battery, however "good" you think it. Return it to lenovo as soon as you can!
