15.4 in WUXGA Screen dimensions

#1 Post by PaulS » Mon Aug 20, 2007 11:11 pm

What is the height and width dimensions of the 15.4 in. WUXGA screen that comes with the T61p?

I would prefer the smaller display but, unfortunately, the 14.1 in. 1400x1050 screen is unavailable for the T61p in Canada and the Thinkpad models are not customizable as they are in the US :(

Tabook states:
Dimension: 15.4" models (WxDxH): 14.1" x 10.0" x 1.2–1.4"; 358.4mm x 255mm x 29.8–34.5mm
Weight: with optical drive and battery: starting at 5.9 lb (2.7kg)

if you've seen a 14.1" (4:3) T60/T61 then add 1.5" to the width and 0.2" to the thickness.   it's not *that* much larger but the weight is noticeable.

15.4 in WUXGA Screen dimensions

I am looking for the screen dimensions, not the laptop dimensions, which ryengineer had quoted from the tabook.pdf. I don't think this information is readily available from lenovo's website.

15.4" T60/61p is 33.17 cm x 20.73 cm ... 15" T60p is 30.48 cm x 22.86 cm

Interestingly, the screen area of the 15" is larger than the 15.4" ws.

Based on my observation of these screens I've seen at ibm, the quality of the 15" screens are consistently much better than all the 15.4" screens IMHO.
