So, my T61p (6460-67U) is shipped, and I got the serial to look up my parts. I am seeing a number of mysteries.

The biggest mystery: the LCD screen! I have:
42T0360 42T0361 15.4 INCH LCD DISPLAY FRU YES

Neither of these numbers are returning anything. not even in Google. They don't match what it says in the HMM either, although the number looks more like the Samsung FRU. What might this be?

Then I have the following two lines:
39T2793 39T2799 HARD DRIVE 100GB TRAY FRU YES
39T2798 39T2799 HARD DRIVE 100GB TRAY FRU YES

Huh? Did they mistakingly put 2 HDs there? Wishful thinking, eh?
Either way it looks like a Seagate. I was hoping for a Hitachi (and probably get one of the 200GB ones at some point), but does anyone have any complaints about those?


And pray tell, what might this be:
42V8639 0000000 BOMS, NOT SHIPPABLE ACROSS BORDERS; 15 W NO (this is a Canadian order)
that cannot cross borders?
Bilirubin oxidative metabolites? (sounds like something you don't want to touch)
or
British Organ Music Seminar? (sounds like something you don't want to get caught in)

On other news:
42T3109 42T3143 KEYBOARD FRU YES
Looks like good news (NMB), but I suppose I will have to wait until I get a peek under the keys.

42X1917 43T8088 VISTA ULTIMATE 32 BIT RECOVERY DISC YES
Looks like I am getting a DVD? Who knew?

My HD was listed twice too, that "Across Borders" thing is the transformer (regional plug) and some Chicony etc KBs have supposedly been rebranded as NMB.

Hope that's not too disappointing.

Seems to be a LG panel - 42T0xxx is a typical number for LG panels and it is not that unlikely as http://blog.mobile01.com/merlin/article/991 has checked his panel and found out that it is an LG, too.

Edit: In fact you can read 42T0360 in the second pic from Merlin's blog - you have an LG panel for sure!

Wow! I am not usually this lucky! LG display, NMB keyboard...

Hopefully the UPS guy won't drop it on the way, causing a crappy replacement.

Again, it may not actually be NMB, but I got my fingers crossed for you.

i just got my serial number but parts lookup doesn't work on it yet.   our machines were probably built in the same batch so i'm hoping mine will have an LG panel.

my panel's FRU is 42T0408 and it's a samsung.   i guess your 42T0xxx rule doesn't apply.
