t60p lenovo access connections problem

This started happening recently. Whenever access connections is installed, it shows my WLAN radio as being powered off. I toggle the manual radio power switch on the side to make it recognize the radio as on, but it doesn't work. The only time the software recognizes the hardware as being on is when access connections is not installed. I'm stumped, any ideas? thanks

Welcome to thinkpads.com forum.
The only thing i know about is: Access Connection does not work together with microsoft wireless utility and i have lots of problem with these. As for the WLAN, i think it only works with microsoft wireless not AC

Great that it is fixed.
I was going to say to make sure the switch is on. You obviously have already done that.

There is a driver install sequence issue with Access Connections. The instructions are in the readme for the respective drivers.
The order is:
If vista, the interface driver
Lenovo power driver
Lenovo power manager
Softkey driver
Then Access Connections.
Refer to the readme of these drivers/applications to confirm, I am only going on memory here.
My recommendation is to uninstall all of these first then install in the sequence specified in the readme. Also, some of these have been updated in the last 60 days or so. Use the current ones.

Additional comment.
AC works on my T60p for these:
WAN Ethernet (Intel PRO/1000)
WWAN (Verizon - Sierra Wireless 1xEVDO card, built in)
Bluetooth (built in)
WiFi (Intel 3945ABG)
I found that when MS installs an update to the wireless, it may be necessary to reinstall AC to kill the MS built in stuff.
Also the drivers for the devices need to be installed before AC.
