IR, is it possible on t61p

I know i have it on my t40, but i just have a cover were it should be on the t61p. Is it upgradeable or am i out of luck, I do have BT, but the IR would also be great, any advice
t61p 14.1 sxga, 4gig ram, Win7 Pro 64-bit

yes IR will be nice. my mini mobile Canon printer is IR , and i cannot use it now with the new T61 ...

Yeah, I agree with you. I'd love lenovo to keep IR. I think now in T61, the serial is gone, parallel is gone, and IR is gone too. You need to use a USB doggle or USB cables for those features. Guess that's why T61 have 3 USB ports instead of 2 ports in T43 :P [/img]

Why Lenovo removed the S-video and IR features on newer Thinkpads (T series).

Which was the last to have S-Video? I don't remember one.

I used my s-video port on my old t-23 alot over the years....a shame to see it go. :?

Technology wise, if Lenovo removed an S-video port by the fact that most newer TV now are LCDs with digital input, I think they should add a DVI-D output when they remove an s-video --not just put them on the docking.
