Resume in Mini Dock with top closed.

#1 Post by TomF » Mon Aug 27, 2007 8:51 am

I recently got a T61. I'm still in the process of configuring it.

(My wife thinks I'm nuts that it takes up to a month to configure a new PC. She gets a preconfigured one from her work).

I commute on the train and use the Verizon WWAN card. When I'm finished, I turn off the card and hibernate the PC. I then come to work, put the T61 into a mini dock. I press the power button on the mini dock and nothing seems to happen until I open the T61's lid. I do not want to open the lid as all I do is RDP to it from the desktop PC I have at work. This worked fine on my T40p.

Has the functionality changed so the lid has to be open?

I'm running Vista Business.

TIA

i think all you have to do is change the power setting telling the computer to do "nothing" when the lid is closed

sure thing, but now remember just because the lid is closed does not mean that the computer is in sleep mode (bumps, hard drive jumps, ... etc). You need to manually put your computer to sleep after your train ride.
