fatwallet, part 2?

#1 Post by Cowboy6032 » Mon Aug 27, 2007 6:20 pm

I assume I will just have to eat the difference...but thought I would ask you guys a stupid question anyways...

I ordered a new T61 on the 16th. I built my computer online, and added it to my cart. I applied the coupon...knocked nearly 200 dollars off the price, and placed the order. All I get was the confirmation email, showing the order number, and my customer number.

Two days later, I get an email w/ the invoice in it, saying the computer was built/shipped...but the coupon was not on there. I checked my credit card, but it hadn't posted on there yet, either. So, I waited a few more days....finally, I get my new T61, and it had posted to my account...at the higher price. I called and asked if this was right...and told her that I had used a coupon code, and she basically said 'tough'.

I got this in an email, after I talked to her:
I spoke with my supervisor regarding your order, and he advised me that we cannot honour the 10% discount because there was no error present on Lenovo.com
She then basically said...prove it. The only proof that I have that it should be lower is on fatwallet, where it's listed at the cheap price. Once you stop laughing...anyone have any suggestions? :banghead:

when u checked the order status, after ordering, did it show the higher price, or the discounted price.

if it showed the higher price, i'd have to say, tough.
i ordered mine on 8/12, and right away i noticed the price did not include the 10% coupon i applied. so i cancelled right away, and ordered again. this time it showed the right price.
ordered (8/12), estimated ship date (8/30). cant wait!!!

I ordered a pair of R61's with some 10% off coupon that lowered the price to a ridiculously low level (~$450.00 each) but they canceled my order without a single word. :x I'm sure it was a pricing mistake.
At least it did not cost me anything.

Not that this will help you now, but in the future always print out the final order total/invoice. That way, you can fax them a copy of it and they will do a pricematch, crediting you back the difference. Note that Lenovo will only do this once the computer has shipped.

Sorry to hear that happened.
I lost count...

I dont see why you cant use the fatwallet proof...

The fact is Lenovo has a contract with fatwallet to provide you the money back deal. Fatwallet is sent the order information from Lenovo - if they were sent your coupon'ed price, I would definately fight it.

If this is a no-go, I would 1) not open the box and 2) ask for an RMA + full refund. you have 21 days to return it for whatever reason and only pay shipping if the box is not opened. 99% of the time they will just give you the coupon difference rather than take the laptop back. It will cost them more in the longrun if they do have to deal with you sending it back.
