Thinkpad 11a/b/g mPCI card driver?

Ok...so I ordered (and received) this card.

IBM box labeled 40Y7026
machine boots fine.
no bios complaints.
XP SP2 sees the card
and thats as far as I got.

It is NOT permitting the driver to install...if I run the setup, it runs and exits and tells me to reboot (which I do) and still "new hardward found"

If I try and point the device mangler at the .inf file area under the extracted driver tree...it still says NO.

I think the issue COULD be that the current driver is for 11a/b/g/n and I only have the 11a/b/g

This is the driver I am trying to install....
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-66449

I am very versed with XP and know how to do things, but in this case it's acting like i have the WRONG driver!

Help?

So I dug. I found this file:

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... MIGR-52527

and it works......so I am puzzled why a driver for the wifi card that WORKS isnt in the page for the laptop itself?

Could it have something to do with the fact that you have a 40Y7026 which is a Lenovo ThinkPad 11a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini-PCI Express Adapter and not a 11a/b/g/n card, and that the first driver was for a Wireless LAN ThinkPad 11a/b/g/n card? While the second was for a:

- IBM 11a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Adapter II
- IBM 11b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI adapter
- ThinkPad 11a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Express Adapter
- ThinkPad 11b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Express Adapter

or the card that you actually have?

This is the second time this has come up. Hopefully Lenovo will get this sorted out soon.

So...does anyone have a source for a more up to date driver?

The best driver I could come up with that would properly work with my 802.11a/b/g (not n) was version 5.3.0.35

PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_1014 seems to be the issue with install.
The inf files for the current shipping driver do not include this device ID and as such the current driver fails install.

5.3.0.35 is the latest version of the 802.11a/b/g (not n) card.
