CSS Removes Access Connections GUI Repeatedly

#1 Post by Tholek » Fri Aug 31, 2007 11:29 am

I'm not sure why this is happening. I can still configure my adapter via the settings under the wlan taskbar icon, but the independent ACS app is repeatedly removed after CSS prompts a reboot.

It started after the System Upgrade app updated several apps, including itself. Then I noticed that, after a reboot, the app was gone and its icon turned white in the start menu. When clicked, Vista tells me ACMainGui.exe is gone. So, I reinstall the current (driverless) version, and all is well. That is, until I access a drive or IE or whatever. Then CSS pops up a dialog box that says it needs to restart and it happens all over again.

Anyone know why this is happening?

CSS started to reboot my ThinkPad seemingly at random, so I just went and removed it. Not having chose the fingerprint reader, I don't see it as too much of a loss, but I liked the added password protection. If there's a workaround or fix for this, I'd like to know.
