Where are the WSXGA + Screens on the T61?

if you're asking about lenovo.com, they're now within the T61 15.4 "6459: express" and "thinkpad mobile workstation" sections.
if you're asking about their physical location, they're found just above the keyboard on a set of stainless steel hinges surrounded by a plastic bezel.

A bit sad that the 14.1" WSXGA+ screens are no longer provided as options, but then again, with other vendors that offer them (e.g. Dell), selecting it will delay your shipment by about a month or so!
Can anyone confirm whether the vertical resolution on the 14.1" WSXGA screens are 768 or 800 pixels? I just ordered mine a few days ago, and while I am most likely going to stick with it, it's nice to know in advance. The product brochure said 768, but then again the same brochure also promised 14.1" WSXGA+ ..

Dear Bill,
Thank you for contacting Lenovo, the makers of ThinkPad and ThinkCentre products.
Although this screen for the T61 is not available online it is available through our sales
line at 1-866-428-4465. The reason it was pulled from the site is because it is on a 6 week
wait time and so can only be ordered through a sales representative.
If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to reply to this email, or to call
us at 1-866-42-THINK (428-4465). We will be happy to assist you further at that time.
Once again, thank you for contacting Lenovo.
Sincerely,
Lenovo Customer Service

WSXGA+ will always be 1680 x 1050. If it's not that then it's not WSXGA+. There are some other resolutions out there sux as WXGA which is like 1280x768. Then there's WXGA+ which is like 1440x900. If it's 1280x768 then you have WXGA not WSXGA+

The 14.1" widescreen T61 offers two native resolutions: WXGA (1280x800) and WXGA+ (1440x900).
BTW, I finally saw one in person at a bookstore today and think it's the ugliest Thinkpad ever made. It's also needless bulky. In contrast, the Dell Latitude D620 (also 14.1" widescreen) is much smaller and looks infinitely nicer. They seem equally sturdy though.

Well, you forgot the rollcage factor.

No I didn't! I have been whining about it for months. Thinkpad display lids had been tough enough without the rollcage. It's not necessary and it adds weight to the laptop.

i would prefer a slick thinner laptop. who needs that roll cage ?
the T43 was thinner , yeah it wasnt as sturdy , but it was sturdy enough. and maybe on the spec the difference between them are minor. but i can feel the difference easy when holding them.
this thing is built almost like it's going to be used in the military... way over kill for the average user in my opinion .

My point was the dell you mentioned would had been no smaller or nicer if roll cage were put in it.

But I was actually mainly complaining about the width and depth of the T61 due to the needlessly wide display bezel, not about the thickness of the display lid.
