Battery Compatibility for T61

I was just wondering whether somebody knows if the 6 cell or 9 cell battery for the Z series works also for the T61. As far as I know they should work with the T60 but I'm not sure if that's also the case for the T61. Thanks in advance.

They are not compatible.

I just received my new T61 and tried the 9 cell battery of my Z60m successfully. Works perfectly and saves me the money to buy a new battery.

Sir, I am sure gator's response would've been different if you mentioned the screen size of your T61.

T61 15,4" - IMHO compatible
T61 14,1" - IMHO incompatible (max 7-cell battery)

Correct on the 1st one! This week I ordered a 9-cell and installed it yesterday. It was labeled as fitting the Z series...
As for the 14.1" model...can't comment

T60 batteries are not compatible with widescreen 14.1" T61.
T60 batteries are compatible with 4:3 14.1" T61.
