Quadro FX 570 128 MB reachs 2500 at 3D Mark 2006 (the 256 MB version tops at about 3500). So, from 1400 to 2500, it's about 77% more power.
Yes, I'am sure (99%) : Quadro NVS 140m is the OpenGL dedicated version of the GeForce 8400m GS, both have 16 Stream Processors. Some things are uncleat beacause between some Quadro, the only difference is memory bus width. Also, each laptop manufacturer can clok the GPU at a specific frequency.
What is sure 100%, is that my T61 14" wide 1440x900 with Quadro NVS 140m 128 MB score 1437 at 3D Mark 2006 in 1280x1024 (external screen) and 1520 at 1280x800 (laptop screen).
Take care with 3D Mark 2006, it melts the CPU score to the GPU score to compute the final result. This is made by an irrealistic way comparing to real game.
Note from Moderator: "Some moderator" removed your excessive quoting AGAIN. Trim your quotes, or I'll do it for you. And you won't like the results.

Although I am not a fan of widescreen, a lighter 14.1" WSXGA+ T61p will be sweet! I will buy it!

I'am currently evaluate T61 14,1 1440x900 for our office. Form factor is fine but for applications, this resolutions is quiet small. There are about 12% pixels less and most applications are still better with 4/3 ratio. 16/10 aspect is fine when you have 1680x1050 or higher.
For my own, I will more hesitate for screen resolution (1440x900 vs 1400x1050) then 4/3 or 16/10 form factor itself. T61p 14,1" 1440x900 with Quadro FX 570 even with 128 MB will perhaps be my next buy. If they make it with WSXGA+, I will also jump on it !
PS : 16/10 is very nice for my games, far better then 4/3 !

I think that as stated by many here is a factor of weight and SIZE!
I used to "Think" the same way: "I will never...". But having a personal X60 tablet that is a perfect travel laptop/tablet I have no regrets.
HOWEVER...with my current employeer I travel maybe 1% of the year, but I am "on call". I have a backpack that the WideScreen laptop feets in fine, along with all my other gadgets. For the most part I travel with the laptop almost everywhere I go; and all things considered it has not been that much of a challenge. The only problem has been in using it on planes and restaurant tables...
I have learned to enjoy the benefits of a Widescreen, in particular having more room for multiple windows, since at home and work I run a "dual monitor" setup (external monitor with laptop display). I always have multiple things I work on (spreadsheets, word documents, RDP'd into several machines, etc).
While not for everyone in particular the road-warrior!! I think the 15.4" has its place!! But again, based on the fact that a lot of laptops are in use by "road-warriors" I can see how the 4:3 format can still be a popular option...

T61p 14" is 1400x1050, isn't it?

Pascal, any chance you would run aquamark3 benchmark (@1024x768) on the 14" T61p?
The 256MB video ram has way too much advantage over the 128MB version in 3dmark06.
