What happened to the WUXGA?

Hey, I was thinking about getting a T61p because I saw that it had a WUXGA screen that I could watch 1080p content on.
But behold!
The lenovo website is only showing the WSXGA! I swear the WUXGA was there not long ago.
What gives??

Parts are on backorder. Call Lenovo and order the machine thru a salesperson and you can get a WUXGA LCD. Expect a long wait to ship.

Here's what I did to get the SPP price:
- Logged in to SPP site
- Browsed to T61p model I wanted
- Took everything up to en_us in the URL of that page
- Transplanted it into the above link
- Profit

Lenovo has a few on clearance right now, for as low as $1,042 to the general public.
Ordering T61p with WUXGA and WWAN

Hi All,
I was desperately looking for a T61p with the WUXGA screen and I came across this forum and thread.
I used the link posted in one of the earlier messages and was able to get a configuration that had the WUXGA screen (!). However, it does not have the option to add the WWAN.
So - two questions - if I get this T61p without the WWAN, can I add it later? That is, is it wired already with the antenna in the screen for the WWAN?
If not, is there another link that someone can post that allows the T61p to be configured with the WUXGA and WWAN?
Thanks!
Cheers,
Niranjan

Only if you would order it with WWAN. Those (most) that come with WWAN usually have a
hump on right end however some also come without the hump and still have WWAN. Yes, you can add WWAN later on as well as long as the motherboard allows it. You would cable, screw kit and WWAN card. It will require you to take apart the screen bezel, put the cable under the keyboard and behind the lcd screen. You can find the part numbers and procedure in the HMM.

Instead of hunting for another
link, you can get it customized with one by simply calling lenovo's sales department at 1-866-96-THINK.

Hi,
Thanks for the information. The problem has been that when we called the Lenovo sales rep, he was unable to configure a T61p with the WUXGA (we tried several times). He said that they had stopped making it! I have been checking the web site quite regularly for the last month or so to see if the WUXGA would turn up again, but it has not. That's why I was so happy to come across this link, that at least provided a model number for the T61p with WUXGA.
I almost ordered a Dell (they have the WUXGA) but cancelled the order yesterday when I found this discussion thread. I have been a ThinkPad user for 12+ years and moving to another brand is really hard! I don't like Dell laptops at all - their only saving feature for me is the Trackpoint.
I will call the sales rep again to see if we have any better luck.
Thanks.
Cheers,
Niranjan

well, the font on WUXGA is too small for me, plus, it's reported to be dimmer. I'm pretty happy with the WSXGA.
