T61P Speedstep Problem

#1 Post by Daniel » Thu Sep 06, 2007 2:36 pm

Hi, I just finished doing a clean install of Windows XP Professional. Everything is working just fine except for the speedstep. The processor is constantly at full speed and will not clock down. I have the Lenovo ACPI and Intel Chipset drivers installed. What else am I missing? I've tried installing the Lenovo Power manager but it made no difference. The notebook runs noticebly warming in XP than in it does in Vista because of this issue.

Have you tried checking in the BIOS? There's a config in Power Management menu on how the CPU/Monitor/HDD/... perform on AC and on battery setting.

Yep, I did check the BIOS. Usually the OS power management options override the BIOS settings. I think the BIOS settings are for environments without dedicated power management controls.
