I'm tempted to buy T61p from US and ship to UK.
I have question raised in Marketplace regards taxes for shipping to UK and posibilities to avoid. Please share your thoughts

I would like to change keybord to UK, anyone tried this trick. How does it work? Any complications noticed?

the T61p requires four screws removed for the palmrest and one more for the keyboard.
once it's installed...
- open the keyboard control panel and change the driver to a UK english keyboard (uncheck "show compatible hardware" to view all keyboards)
- open the regional/language control panel and install the UK english keyboard
- reboot
- open the regional/language control panel again and uninstall the US english keyboard
that's about it. i have a japanese keyboard on my T61p so i'm quite familiar with the process.

Sir, open Keyboard Customizer Utility and change Thinkpad keyboard layout from English-US to English-UK.
Please first make sure you have
Keyboard Customizer Utility installed.

keyboard customizer cannot change the actual keyboard driver. he has to follow my directions above and manually install the UK-english keyboard driver in the regional and language options control panel.
